It's still just stuck in my head. I really like the new Focus's a lot, and I think the fact that this is a manual will help it sell. Also, I like the looks of the ST, even though it has a fish face.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

As long as I know what the damage looks like, I kind of like it. I've owned salvage vehicles before, and long as it's not structural, they drive just fine.

But, the main point of buying this is profit, and I think I could sell it for more than what they're asking.

ALSO, this one has been creeping around my brain. I know it's a shitty ad, but if I talk to the owner enough, I can figure out what I need.

Oppo, what do you think?

Rebuilt title = you won't be able to sell it for more than he's asking

It doesn't have an ST rear spoiler or bumper. Also, I don't know much about flipping cars, but wouldn't a rebuilt title turn people away?

I've done it on three other salvage vehicles. But obviously, I'd prefer a clean title. WAY easier to sell.

It makes it more difficult, but not impossible. I can't price is with the clean title cars.

Also, the rear bumper requires center exhaust.

You can actually fit the ST exhaust tips underneath the regular Focus bumper. I sold my stock exhaust to a guy that's doing it to his wife's car.

I'm sure it's just the most annoying thing ever to sell.

The calls are fewer. Some people won't notice it, even when I have salvage title written in the ad and description. And when they find out, they're less interested.

But when the right person comes a long, they could care less. It's weird seeing so many people scoff at the title, and then one person comes along who doesn't give any shits about it.

Lol people who don't care about cars are really helpful sometimes.

Well I will say, when repaired well and without any structural damage, they do drive just like normal cars. Insurance doesn't total due to frame damage, it's all about costs. If it costs like more than half the value to fix the car, they give the option to total out. I had a Mazda3 Hatch in freshman year that had a fender bender, needing front bumper, fender, headlight, foglight, paint. etc. The value of the car was $8000 and the damage estimate was $5000, so it was totaled.

One of the trucks for my dad's mechanic shop is a salvage 04 F150 he bought in 05. It was salvaged out because somebody store all four doors off of it. That's it. Each door was $1000 minus paint, which even with paint and labor doesn't equal half, so I don't understand the reasoning for totaling, but they did. We picked it up for pennies: lariat, 4x4, crew cab, 15k miles, and luckily ford hasn't really changed the body much until 2015, so it still looks reasonably new. Luckier so, it's only used when needed so it only has 60k miles now, 9 years later.

Basically, I just try to get the full story first. Most of the cars I buy are enthusiast-ish cars, so I think the buyers do care about the car, they just look past it.

Wow, that's crazy about the F150. It's good to know a car's history.

Isn't there a way to clean a salvage or rebuilt title?
